All hail the ManRam. The Dodgers honored the steroid cheat with a bobblehead night. Manny Ramirez repaid that love by coming off the bench to whack a game-winning grand slam homer.
All is well in SoCal. Here is what is up (and down) in sports:
TRENDING UP
Michael Vick. From prison to home confinement to making it rain. His life is definitely on the uptick.
Erin Andrews. Rupert Murdoch’s people caught wind of her video nudity. So the New York Post and Fox News set out to cover the story and uncover Erin. Her ratings in the important 18-35 male demographic are soaring. Sadly, ESPN won’t ask Post reporters to come on the air any time soon.
Astros. For whatever reason, this team usually starts slowly and then finishes with a flourish. This season the turnaround came sooner — and now Houston is the team to be beat in the National League Central.
Islanders goaltending. This team has injury-prone Rick DiPietro locked up for like 100 years, so it only made since to add Dwayne Roloson and Martin Biron as well. Maybe one of them can move up to the wing.
SEC football. These student-athletes are generating lots and lots of cash. Let’s hope the boosters are paying these kids accordingly.
TRENDING DOWN
Lance Armstrong. Livestrong, ride slow, fall back into the pack.
Mets. The losses mount. So does the embarrassment. Taking off your shirt to challenge younger men to fight is always a strong move.
Pirates. Once again they are trading off useful players at end of July. Why doesn’t this franchise just give into the hopelessness and fold?
Mattingly family relations. Bobo’s family has some issues, but nothing like this.
LeBron James pride. As you no doubt know, he got dunked on at his own basketball camp. His operatives seized video of that incident, but you just knew footage would eventually hit the Internet. But who knew the footage would be so crappy?

Brought to you by Cash 4 Skulls.
Here are some of the items catching Bobo’s eye on the Internet:
- Bobo is glad the Dodgers showed Manny Ramirez some love when his 50-game ban ended.
- What’s funnier than watching people get hit in the head with balls?
- Well, maybe it’s watching daredevils come up a bit short. That’s pretty cool.
- Real-life irony can be so cruel.
- Must we live it to soccer players to properly honor Michael Jackson?
- Finally, a new sport for the Spike network to televise.

Some thoughts on the world of sports:
- How about the Ryan Dempster injury? If you did not hear, he broke his right big toe celebrating the Cubs Sunday win. He caught his foot on a rail coming out of the dugout and could miss . . . a month! And you still think there is not a curse?
- Who really cares about the Tour de Fraud? Lance Armstrong is a great athlete and all, but who can trust that anything this guy has ever did is on the up and up? That sport has more doping than all others combined and at the end of the day it is a bunch of guys riding bikes long distance. Talk about edge of your seat stuff right there. He should go back to dating singers and making movie cameos.
- I just saw a report where Chad “Johnson” Ocho Cinco is going to Twitter during NFL games. Shouldn’t he be worried about, you know, PLAYING FOOTBALL!! How can the NFL or the Bengals allow things like this. I have nothing against Twitter – people seem to like that sort of thing and information updates – but do we really need mid game updates?
- Great to see Manny Ramirez tossed for complaining balls and strikes. Couldn’t happen to a better scum bag.
ManRam Gets 50 Games, This Dude Freaks
Of all the Internet reaction out there to Manny Ramirez’s suspension, this might be the most disturbing.
